Krystal Uzuegbu is a 22-year-old musician born and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland. She recently graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences-Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Aspiring to be a violinist like her brother and sister, Krystal began violin lessons at age four with Evonne Bassch. Under Baasch’s direction, she traveled throughout the United States with the “Strings for Joy” ensemble. In addition to taking several workshops with renowned violin clinician Terry Durbin, she also participated in Suzuki Summer Institutes at the Catholic University of America, where she was selected to perform in honor recitals. In 2009, Krystal received the Rising Star Award from the Adventist Guild of Musicians.

In 2006, Krystal began piano studies under the tutelage of Julliard graduate, Dr. Audrey Andrist. Under her mentorship, Krystal participated in many juried piano recitals for the Montgomery County Music Teachers Association, receiving the High Honors Award in 2009. Having fallen in love with the piano, she continued her studies as a music major at Andrews University with Professor Trina Thompson. Throughout her time at Andrews, Krystal has played violin in the University Orchestra and the Pioneer Memorial Church Praise Team.
